1963 YEARBOOK
TEE SEfflR CLASS
PRESENTS
IKE CRIIER1CKJ
FOREWORD
Culture is an integral portion of our daily lives, enriching them and adding to their fullness. During these years, we have been exposed to almost every form of culture. In school, culture has become known to us through workshops, music, home economics, and various other sources.
Extracurricular clubs, private guidance and per- sonal hobbies have also added to this develop- ment.
2
FOREWORD
THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES, THE DAY BUT ONE.
1 ■
With the passage of years-, -we maf -look back upon this school year as the time when dark- ness of ignorance suddenly became bright with the gleam of knowledge.
To preserve a record of these moments and countless other experiences of us and of our classmates, we strive to capture the "eyes" and "mind" of the scholarship, the leadership, the activities, and the character of HOLSTON VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

DEDICA TION
Mrs. Jo Ann Gross
Miss Daphne Jones
In deepest gratitude and appreciation of the kind deeds, courtesies, and helpful influences of those who have labored so unselfishly for the education of the Holston Valley youth; whose interests have been in the improvement of our lives; whose love and encouragement have been inspirational; whose friendships have presented us a challenge to meet the obstacles of life; and whose never ending sacrifices have helped to make possible these four years of high school, we dedicate THE CRITERION of 1963 to Miss Jones, Mr. Combs, and Mrs. Jo Ann Gross.
